Description:

The Assessor’s Office is recruiting to fill an Auditor-Appraiser I vacancy. Individuals in this position receive training in the following areas: techniques and procedures involving appraising commercial and industrial property for tax assessment purposes and instruction on the fundamentals of analyzing and auditing financial and other records of commercial and industrial firms for tax assessment purposes. Once trained, incumbents will be assigned to the most routine audits and appraisals of commercial and industrial property and fixtures of various business firms.

Qualifications:

Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process.

Appointees must meet appraiser certification requirements established by the California State Board of Equalization within one year of appointment.

Either Possession of a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in accounting or a closely related field, which must have included at least 18 semester units or 27 quarter units of accounting and/or auditing; OR, possession of a valid Certified Public Accountant License issued by the California Board of Accountancy.
