Description:

We are accepting applications for two Full-Time Behavioral Health Specialist positions for the Public Health Department in Lompoc and Santa Maria. Under general direction, the Behavioral Health Specialist provides screening, brief mental health treatment, behavioral interventions, education, referrals and linkage to support patients in addressing behaviors that create health concerns within the primary care setting; provides education and develops behavioral change plans for patients; consults with staff and management; and performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Employment Standards
1. Possession of a valid license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; or,
2. Possession of a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California State Board of Medical Examiners.

NOTE: Professional Licensure: Applicants must possess licensure in their profession from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or California State Board of Medical Examiners at the time of application.
Additional Requirements: Independent travel is required for some positions in this class. If so, a valid driver’s license is required at the time of application. A valid California Class C Driver’s License is required at the time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Finalists for positions in this class will be required to pass a pre-offer, job-related background investigation.
