Description:

Qualifications:

Seventeen appointed and 6 elected department heads are responsible for leading the County’s 23 departments. The County has a talented and professional staff of 2,383.5 FTE’s that values collaboration throughout the organization. The fiscal year 2020-21 Recommended Budget is approximately $661.7 million.

The CAO is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and supervises the administrative activities of all Board controlled offices, departments, and agencies. A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s degree is desirable. In addition, at least six years of increasingly responsible management and supervisory experience within a public sector agency is required.
