Description:

The City of Cupertino (population 66,762) is located against the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains at the west end of world-famous Silicon Valley, 42 miles south of San Francisco. A general law city, Cupertino is supported by 197.75 staff and an annual budget of $110.6 million. The City Attorney’s Office performs the traditional legal functions associated with a dynamic Silicon Valley municipality. The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and assisted by an Assistant City Attorney and Legal Assistant.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and collaborative legal advisor able to provide a balanced perspective to assist elected officials and City staff in delivering outstanding service to the community. Extensive executive or senior level experience in municipal law serving as a City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney or equivalent experience is desired. A JD from an accredited law school and current membership in the California State Bar are also required.

Compensation will be based upon experience and qualifications. Salary is supplemented by competitive benefits.
