Starting Annual Salary: $88,267-$106,729

Description:

The County Engineer assists the Community Development Director in the administration of the Engineering/Surveying Division. The incumbent is responsible for County engineering functions including approval of construction improvement drawings and Public Works facilities. Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering or a knowledge equivalent/sufficient to receive certification as a Civil Engineer. Experience: Five (5) years of full-time increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience in planning, development, construction, and maintenance of public works facilities, including at least three (3) years in a management or supervisory capacity. Special Requirements: • Possession of Certification as a Civil Engineer by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a governmental agency and/or the ability to serve as the County Surveyor by having authorization to practice land surveying in California is highly preferred.
