The Departmental Human Resources Analyst classifications are part
of a flexibly staffed series and are used in multiple departments
throughout the County. Vacancies may be filled at any level in
the series, depending upon the selected candidates’ experience
and qualifications, as well as departmental needs.
Incumbents perform professional-level human resources functions
in a variety of areas including, but not limited to:
• Recruitment and Selection
• Classification and Compensation
• Employee/Labor Relations
• Training and Development
• Performance Management
• Leave Administration

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely
provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is
qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and
abilities would be:
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or
university. A major in human resources management, business
administration, industrial/organizational psychology, public
administration or closely related field is preferred.
Experience:
Departmental Human Resources Analyst I: Two (2) years of full
time experience performing complex technical or paraprofessional
Human Resources duties.
Departmental Human Resources Analyst II: Two (2) years of
full-time or its equivalent professional human resources
experience. Qualifying experience should include areas of
responsibility such as conducting classification studies,
compensation analysis, recruitment and staffing, employee and/or
labor relations, and leave administration.
Note: Professional Human Resources experience is defined
as performing duties that require interpretation, independence of
judgment and application of defined principles, practices and
regulations.
