$157,196.57 – $191,073.41/year

Description:

The Office of County Counsel seeks a government attorney to fill a vacancy as a Deputy County Counsel V. Deputy County Counsels provide a full range of transactional and litigation legal services to assigned departments, commissions, school districts, special districts, or other public agencies. They represent clients in proceedings before courts, boards, arbitrators, and other administrative agencies, and provide legal advice on a wide variety of legal issues related to public agencies.
Experience with land use and/or environmental issues is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school or other equivalent legal education approved by the California State Bar; AND

LICENSE:
Active membership in the California State Bar Association is required; AND

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Deputy County Counsel IV or its equivalent which demonstrates possession of and competency in requisite knowledge and abilities. Seven (7) years of experience in the general practice of law may be substituted for the four (4) years of County Counsel experience.
