$97,591 to $136,627 annually

Description:

Under general direction of the Director of Airports, the Deputy Director Airports coordinates and administers the operations, facilities maintenance and security functions of both County airports; manages lease policies and procedures; provides direction and supervision to technical staff; consults with legal counsel; acts for the Director of Airports in the latter’s absence; and performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Possession of a degree in business, airport administration, public administration or finance and at least 3 years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in public airport administration including direct supervision of staff. Must possess and maintain a valid CDL. Experience must demonstrate preparing budgets and approving expenditures; processing RFPs, conducting bid analysis and approving purchase requisitions; administering airport leases and contracts; interacting with community leaders, tenants and the public; making presentations before community groups and public agency governing boards. Possession and maintenance of the Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) certification is required within 2 years from hire date.
