Description:

The City of Arroyo Grande invites your interest in the position of Director of Community Development. This position is responsible for planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Community Development Department including planning, engineering, building, land use, code compliance and economic development; coordinating assigned activities with other City departments, outside agencies and the public; and providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be committed to public service and to championing a diverse community, a vibrant and caring City and a talented, creative and valued workforce. They will have the equivalent of five years of progressively responsible experience in Community Development, including three years of organizational leadership and management responsibility AND education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Urban Planning, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
