Description:

Butte County is seeking a proven engineering professional to manage and mentor a multifaceted Public Works Department. This versatile leader will inspire a diverse, multi-generational and multi-disciplinary workforce through exceptional communication, people and project manager skills and will possess the required knowledge of the principles of administration and management including personnel, budgeting, training, organization, supervision, safe work practices and handling of hazardous materials. Ideally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated senior management experience in a Public Works agency and will possess knowledge and experience of federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations related to public works functions.

Qualifications:

*A Baccalaureate Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.

*Seven years of broad and extensive professional engineering experience including at least four years in a supervisory or administrative capacity responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and other public works functions.

*Valid registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
