Description:

The Child Support Directors Association, a non-profit 501(c)(6) association representing California’s county child support agencies in their efforts to provide for the well-being of the children and families served by California’s Child Support Program, seeks an Executive Director. The ED reports to a 12-member board of directors, oversees a 1.5FTE staff and consultants, and manages a $1.0 million annual budget. Key duties include strong focus on leadership in legislative and regulatory initiatives, management of annual conference with 700-1000 attendees, coordinating CSDA communications, and general management of all association affairs. The ideal candidate has a successful record of association management and/or legislative and regulatory experience. Position is based in Sacramento. Salary $140K to $155K DOE plus benefits. Qualifications:

Attainment of an MPA or MBA or other equivalent advanced degree in a related field is preferred and a minimum of five years of leadership experience in a complex organization that includes effective advocacy, engaging in strategic planning, management, development and supervision of personnel, financial planning, and budget management. • Bachelor’s degree minimum (MPA, MBA, or CAE Certification preferred) • Previous success in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with individuals and organizations of influence such as legislators, legislative staff, State Department of Finance, Legislative Analyst’s Office, State Health and Human Services Agency, State Department of Child Support Services, advocacy groups, other associations, community partners, etc. • Experience in successfully advocating for legislative changes • Demonstrated skill in association management • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and collaboration skills • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop a high-performance team
