Description:

We are seeking qualified individuals to fill permanent full-time, permanent part-time and permanent intermittent Library Assistant-Journey Level vacancies throughout Contra Costa County. Library Assistant-Journey Level responsibilities include helping library patrons locate information, checking-in and out materials, entering patron registrations, updating patron files, and assist with the use of various reference sources, instructing patrons on the use of library resources and assisting at the circulation desk.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Two (2) years full time experience in a customer oriented environment.
Substitution for Education: One (1) year full-time office support work experience in a public library AND two (2) years full-time experience in a customer oriented environment AND Either 1) possession of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university; OR 2) A Certificate of Library Technology from an accredited college or university; OR 3) Two (2) years of full-time paraprofessional experience in a public library.
