$72,616.96 – $125,840.19 Annually, plus benefits

Description:

The County of Ventura is seeking two (2) Labor Relations Analyst; one position is in the CEO’s Human Resources Office – Health Care Unit and the second position is located in the Human Services Agency.

CEO – Human Resources Health Care Unit

Under general direction, provides labor relations support and acts as Agency liaison in the areas of discipline and grievances; conducting investigations; review and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements; and other work as required in the County Executive Office, Human Resources Division, dedicated to the Health Care Agency (HCA).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced labor relations professional who is self-motivated with an aptitude for independent judgment, and a critical thinker with proven ability to take charge of multiple projects at the same time and see them through to completion.  Experience performing generalist and/or specialist analytical labor relations work in a unionized environment is highly desired.  Performing such duties in a Healthcare and/or civil service environment is desired.  In addition, the ideal candidate for this position will enjoy working in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment, have the proven ability to collaborate with various groups.

Human Services Agency

Under general direction, performs and supervises staff and activities within the Office of Integrity Assurance unit in the Human Services Agency HR Division. Specialized functions include State Civil Rights Coordinator; labor relations liaison in the areas of disciplines and grievance/arbitrations; conducting investigations; overseeing LOA/RTW program and FEHA/ADA accommodations, risk management and workers’ compensation claim reporting/reviews; performance improvement; and UIB hearings.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR business partner, collaborator, and trusted advisor with a proven track record of providing HR consulting, solutions, and support to colleagues and customers within the public sector. Adept at problem solving, multi-tasking, and effectively managing within a fast-paced, evolving work environment.  In addition, the ideal candidate maintains a high degree of confidentiality, adaptability, and flexibility. Knowledge of Human Services and related State Civil Rights Compliance program requirements are desired.

Qualifications:

Considerable experience in labor relations working for a large public or private employer which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The required knowledge, skills and abilities can be obtained by progressively responsible experience as a specialist providing highly specialized personnel (labor relations) services.

Desired: Experience working in a public sector civil service environment with multiple unions.
