Description:

Principal Analysts are skilled local government managers who have advanced level knowledge and abilities in their assigned areas, are generally responsible for one or more major program/policy areas, and serve as team leaders and primary project managers of Board priorities. Incumbents function independently and are expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of local policies, organization operations, best management practices, and modern fiscal and budget planning tools. This recruitment will generate candidates for two distinct vacancies as follows: Operations & Budget Principal Analyst, and Policy, Grants, and Special Projects Principal Analyst.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Demonstrated ability to employ strong reasoning, to provide fully justified and researched recommendations and alternatives including risk assessment of consequences of decisions/recommendations
• Significant experience directly supporting the development and execution of policies, programs, and fiscal plans
• Strong analytical and research skills, including quantitative analysis, good judgment, and a common sense approach
• Exceptional project management skills, from design and planning through implementation
• High quality oral and written communication skills, including report writing and the ability to make concise and effective presentations before advisory boards, governing bodies, and other stakeholder groups
