$127,813 – $174,561 annually, DOQ

Description:

The Registrar of Voters reports to the County Administrator and liaises closely with the Assistant County Administrator and is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Elections Department. Key issues and priorities in this role include enhancing voter outreach and education efforts as well as ensuring the successful running of elections. The high level of visibility and complex nature of this position requires a transparent, objective and apolitical professional with the ability to address issues that are highly partisan and emotional. The Registrar must be well versed and current with election processes and federal and state election laws and understand available voting systems and related technologies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will typically possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Sociology, Economics, Political Science or related field and two years of experience as an elections manager, assistant registrar of voters or equivalent position in a State of California elections department or four years experience performing complex and diverse administrative/managerial functions and developing and interpreting laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the field of elections with a public agency.
