$5,840 – 7,145 / Month

Description:

• Performing complex and specialized tasks related to processing payroll transactions within an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). • Assisting County payroll clerks with processing bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls in compliance with Federal, State and County laws. • Providing technical support to the Department of Human Resources and Marin County Employee Retirement Association to resolve problems and recommend solutions as appropriate. • Transmitting various payroll withholding taxes and deduction registers on or before due dates (PIT/SDI taxes, NDC/ICMA deductions and wire transfer of funds).               

The highly qualified candidate has prior experience processing high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a collective bargaining environment with varying payroll and benefit elements. They have experience using an integrated ERP system and demonstrate a solid understanding of payroll and financial policies and governmental payroll procedures, including Federal, State and County tax codes, laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate and dependable, and possesses the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, both orally and in writing; is adept at analyzing complex payroll issues; can set priorities to meet critical deadlines; and works effectively both on a team and independently.

We recognize your time is valuable, so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required Minimum Qualifications; Equivalent to completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 quarter units) with major course work in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field AND 2 years of responsible payroll record keeping experience or related accounting/bookkeeping experience, including one year of experience using complex enterprise resource planning system such as SAP. Addition payroll experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
