Description:

The IHSS Public Authority Manager (PA Manager) is responsible for overseeing and directing the core functions and programs of the IHSS Public Authority and will act as the employer of record for individual In-Home Supportive Services care providers for the purpose of collective bargaining over wages, hours, and other conditions of employment and to ensure state mandated guidelines are met for program functions; such as referrals, registration, screening, and training for IHSS consumers and providers. The IHSS PA Manager will also co-chair the Access and Functional Needs (AFN) committee with the Department of Emergency Management with the goal of contributing to planning for the safety of vulnerable people living in Sonoma County.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for caregiving, have experience overseeing high level programs, will help foster community relationships, and possess: • A Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field is highly desired, but not required • Excellent oral, written, and listening skills with the ability to lead, direct, and motivate staff • An understanding of effective leadership principles and the ability to actively engage with employees, clients, and community members • Strong public speaking skills, and the ability to effectively represent the program at the state and local level, as well as in a variety of public settings • The ability to remain calm under pressure and to exercise sound judgement in critical situations
