The Town of Los Gatos (pop. 33,000), a general law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government, is located approximately 60 miles south of San Francisco in Santa Clara County. Reporting to the Town Council, the Town Attorney serves as the legal advisor to the Town Council, staff, boards and commissions with a $660,229 budget including funding for a Legal Assistant or part-time Deputy Town Attorney.

Qualifications:

Los Gatos seeks a knowledgeable and strategic public attorney who enjoys working with a highly educated and engaged community. A flexible management style will assist this individual in responding to competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A broad background in municipal law including land-use matters, strong organizational skills, and extensive executive level experience as a City Attorney, Assistant City Attorney or equivalent is required. Candidates must possess a JD degree and maintain active membership in the State Bar of California. Compensation will be based upon experience and qualifications; the most recent Town Attorney’s salary was $249,000 supplemented by competitive benefits.
