Senator Beall and CSAC Celebrate SB1
County-by-County Revenue Estimates Through FY 26-27
There was a little bit of celebrating to be done at the CSAC 2017 Legislative Conference as a result of the passage of SB1. The new funding plan will provide approximately $5.2 billion a year in new revenue to repair and make other improvements to the State’s aging transportation infrastructure. There is now a county-by-county estimate for the revenue SB1 will generate in the first several years. Please click here to see that document.
State Senator Jim Beall, who carried the bill, thanked CSAC for its leadership in supporting the legislation. He specifically mentioned the Housing, Land Use and Transportation advocacy team, comprised of Kiana Valentine, Chris Lee and DeAnn Baker, who is now CSAC’s Deputy Executive Director for Legislative Affairs. DeAnn previously served as our advocate on transportation issues and has been involved in the transportation funding issue for most of her 30-plus-year career. CSAC First Vice President Leticia Perez presented her with a special plaque that reads: “In honor of your mighty wheels of perseverance…”
