The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) is requesting
comments on the Adult Reentry Grant Program – Rehabilitation of
Existing Property and Building Draft Request for Proposals (RFP).
The Adult Reentry Grant Program was established in the Budget Act
of 2018 (Senate Bill 840, Chapter 29, Statute of 2018). The grant
program is aimed at providing support to individuals formerly
incarcerated in state prison. SB 840 dedicated $15,000,000 for
the rehabilitation of existing property or buildings for housing
people released from prison.
Eligible applicants are Community-Based Organizations located in
the State of California that have been determined by the IRS to
have 501(c)(3) status (i.e., nonprofit). To expedite the release
of a final solicitation for this project we welcome comments from
potential applicants to make sure the draft RFP is clear and
understandable on any technical or substantive areas. Comments
will be used to further improve the RFP in its final draft which
is anticipated to go before the Board for approval to release on
September 12, 2019.
Any interested person, or his or her authorized representative,
may submit written comments relevant to the draft RFP proposed by
the BSCC. The written comment period closes at 5:00 PM on
September 3, 2019. The BSCC will consider
only comments received at BSCC offices by that time.
