Advisory Opportunity for Supervisors and Auditor-Controllers
County supervisors and auditor-controllers have an opportunity to serve on an advisory committee established under the State Controller’s Office that helps improve accounting and reporting procedures on behalf of local governments. Currently, there is one vacancy for a county supervisor and two vacancies for county auditor-controllers.
The 10-member Advisory Committee on County Accounting Procedures meets in person or by teleconference one or two times annually and is responsible for reviewing and approving county accounting and reporting procedures before they become regulation (pursuant to Government Code Sections 30200 and 30201). The Auditor-Controller position may be filled by any county officer with similar duties, including Directors of Finance or other consolidated offices.
The deadline to apply for this important committee has been extended to October 30. If interested, please contact Dorothy Johnson or Tracy Sullivan on CSAC staff and note that a resume or biography will be needed for transmission to the State Controller.
