BSCC Hosts Upcoming SB 823: Youth Programs & Facilities Grant Program Stakeholder Input Session Via Zoom

March 18, 2021

The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) is hosting a virtual Stakeholder Input Session on March 22, 2021, from 4 – 6 p.m. The session will focus on the development of the $9.6 M Request for Application (RFA) for the Youth Programs and Facilities Grant Program portion of SB 823 (Chapter 337, Statutes of 2020).

The BSCC has been developing the RFA for this grant on an expedited timeline to ensure that funding for counties can be made available as soon as possible. However, during the recent written public comment period, BSCC received several requests for an opportunity for stakeholders to provide additional input into the RFA content and process.

During the Stakeholder Input Session, BSCC will provide the opportunity for comment and discussion on the following topics:

  1. Proposed Regional Projects of up to $1 million each to address infrastructure needs to serve:
    1. Youthful Sex Offenders
    2. Female youth
    3. Seriously mentally ill youth
  2. Proposed funding to all counties to address a wide range of diverse infrastructure; and
  3. Additional Input into the RFA content and process.
