California Resilience Challenge Announcement

July 8, 2021

The California Resilience Challenge 2021 Grant Program Request for Proposals will be open from July 12 through September 13, 2021. Building off the success of the 2020 Grant Program, the 2021 California Resilience Challenge is focused on helping under-resourced communities, including counties, build resilience against the climate challenges like wildfires, heat, drought and/or flooding, which threaten them most. To learn more about the California Resilience Challenge, including what types of entities and projects qualify, please click here to Visit the California Resilience Challenge Website and sign up to receive updates.

In 2020, a coalition of businesses, utilities, and environmental organizations including the Bay Area Council Foundation launched the California Resilience Challenge to help communities across California strengthen their resilience to the increasingly severe droughts, heatwaves, wildfires, and flooding affecting California as a result of climate change. With support from the California Resilience Challenge, 12 communities across the state are today undergoing climate adaptation planning initiatives.
