CalPERS Board Election – Let the Voting Begin!
Aug. 30, 2018
County and public agency members of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) will soon decide who they want representing them on the CalPERS Board of Administration (Board) – either the incumbent, Priya Mathur from Bay Area Rapid Transit or Jason Perez from Corona Police Department. Voting information and materials will be mailed to public agency members tomorrow, August 31, and eligible voters (active members as of July 1, 2018) will have until October 1 to cast their vote either through paper ballot, online, or by phone.
To learn more about the candidates, CalPERS will be hosting a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, September 5, from 6-7 p.m., in the CalPERS Auditorium (400 P St., Sacramento). The forum will be webcast live and posted on the CalPERS website for later viewing. Additionally, written and video versions of the candidates’ statement will be available on the Board Elections page on the CalPERS website. An employer toolkit is also available online to help spread the word about the election and turn out the vote.
