The Mental Services Oversight and Accountability Commission in
partnership with Words to Deeds will host a webinar,
Collaborative Problem Solving: Competency to Stand Trial in
Nevada County, on February 9 from 2:00 to 3:15
pm. Looking at the incompetent to stand trial (IST)
population requires creative thinking about treatment needs as
well as system thinking across agencies and disciplines. Nevada
County has used a workgroup of agency leaders to delve into
challenges of policy and practice including ways to add resources
or change practices. This cross section workgroup
discussion will provide perspectives from professionals in the
offices of Behavioral Health, District Attorney, Probation,
Public Defender, and Sheriff on a range of topics around
