Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program Solicitation FY 2020 Formula Grant Solicitation

The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance recently released the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program Solicitation FY 2020 Formula Grant Solicitation. The 2-year grant provides funding to assist eligible states, local units of government, and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus. The grant allows projects and purchases that include, but are not limited to, overtime, equipment (including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment), hiring, supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), training, travel expenses (particularly related to the distribution of resources to the most impacted areas), and addressing the medical needs of inmates in state, local, and tribal prisons, jails, and detention centers.

The application should include a description of specific coronavirus prevention, preparation, and/or response efforts that will be addressed with this funding and include a summary of the types of projects or items that will be funded over the 2-year grant period and corresponding budget.

Applicants must register in GMS at https://grants.ojp.usdoj.gov/ prior to submitting an application under this solicitation. All applicants must register, even those that previously registered in GMS. Select the “Apply Online” button associated with the solicitation title. All registrations and applications are due by 11:59 p.m. eastern time May 29, 2020.
