Now Open: Investment in Mental Health Wellness Grant Program for Children and Youth

The California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) is accepting applications for the Investment in Mental Health Wellness Grant Program for Children and Youth (CY Grant Program) until Friday, July 29, 2023 at 5:00 P.M.. The CY Grant Program is intended to improve access to mental health crisis services in California for children and youth, ages 21 and under, through the expansion of Mobile Crisis Support Teams, Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit beds and Crisis Residential Treatment/Children’s Crisis Residential Program beds, and Family Respite Care. Funds can be used for real property acquisition, construction/renovation, furnishing and equipment acquisition, information technology, and up to three months startup costs.

Eligible applicants for the CY Grant Program include counties, counties applying jointly, and their designated non-profit service providers. Non-profit service providers must apply with a county as the Lead Grantee. There is currently $7,587,127.44 available in capital funding for Crisis Residential Treatment, Crisis Stabilization Unit, and Mobile Crisis Support Team programs and $192,737.00 in Mobile Crisis Support Team personnel funding.
