Save the Date: American Rescue Plan Act Idea Exchange

May 20, 2021

On June 10, the CSAC Government Finance & Administration Committee is hosting an idea exchange for county supervisors to discuss potential uses of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The meeting will feature Bruce Katz, co-founder of New Localism Advisors, and CSAC’s federal team at Paragon Government Relations to provide context for the discussion and give updates on current guidance for spending.

The American Rescue Plant Act was signed in to law by President Biden in March of this year. In a major victory for California’s counties, the final legislation includes robust, direct, and flexible COVID-19-related financial support to all counties. Counties across the country will receive a total of $65.1 billion, with funds allocated based on population. According to preliminary estimates, California counties are projected to receive at least $7.6 billion.

More information about the Act, including current Treasury guidance for local funds, can be found on CSAC’s ARPA Resources Page.
