Sixth Round of Project Home Key Funding Released

Last Friday, Governor Newsom announced a sixth round of Project Homekey awards totaling $81.4 million.

Round six of Homekey awards were provided to 5 applicants for 6 projects totaling 430 units. These awards bring the total awarded under Homekey to $709 million for 45 applicants and 78 projects which total 5,068 units. The average per-unit cost to Homekey is $139,000.

The sixth round of awards includes projects in these 4 county led efforts:

  • Los Angeles County has been awarded $24.1 million for 135 units that will provide supportive services and be used for interim housing before being converted to permanent housing.
  • City and County of San Francisco has been awarded $29.1 million for 130 units that will provide supportive services and be used for permanent housing.
  • Santa Clara County has been awarded $9.56 million for a 54-unit property that will provide supportive services and serve as interim and permanent housing.
  • San Bernardino County has been awarded $1.1 million for 8 short-term vacation rentals that will become permanent homes with priority given to elderly individuals with disabilities who are at-risk of health complications from COVID-19.
