State COVID-19 Guidance Now Available in 13 Languages

September 24, 2020

CSAC is pleased to share that nearly all of the state’s COVID-19 guidance is now available in 13 languages on the state’s www.Covid19.ca.gov website. County Supervisors from around the state strongly advocated for the translation of critical COVID-19 state guidance, and the state estimates that 85 percent of the documents are translated at this time. The state’s goal is to have all COVID-19 guidance translated by the end of this month.

There are two important steps users must take to access the state’s COVID-19 documents in a language other than English:

1. Visit the state’s www.covid19.ca.gov site. Once on the page, note the white “select language” oval in the upper right corner. That is a drop-down menu that allows the user to select their language of choice for information on that page. Select your preferred language by clicking on it in the drop-down menu. The page will automatically be translated into that language.

If a user wants to view additional documents, such as state industry guidance, the user must then click on the orange square “Menu” button, which is located on the upper right of the screen to the right of the white “select language” button.

2. The Menu button will provide a menu of the site’s documents and a search bar in the language previously selected in step #1. A user may then access all COVID-19 information in their language of choice from this site menu.

CSAC appreciates the state’s progress on this issue and will continue to monitor new guidance and information for language accessibility. Should you have questions, please email Farrah McDaid Ting at fmcting@counites.org.
