This week, the Governor’s Office of Planning & Research (OPR)
released of new
technical assistance resources to help local governments plan
for wildfire. The Fire
Hazard Planning Technical Advisory and the
Wildland-Urban Interface Planning Guide incorporate feedback
and comments submitted by CSAC and individual. The advisories are
intended to assist city and county planners in discussions with
professionals from fire hazard prevention and mitigation,
disaster preparedness, and emergency response and recovery
agencies as they work together to develop effective fire hazard
policies for the general plan.
