Training Grants Available for Special District Officials
December 7, 2017
More than $55,000 in scholarship funds are now available for special district staff and elected officials to use for leadership and governance training in 2018. The scholarships were recently approved by the Special District Leadership Foundation (SDLF), a non-profit supported by the California Special District Association (CSDA) and the Special District Risk Management Authority (SDRMA.)
The funds are available to special districts with budgets under $8 million so they can attend CSDA workshops, webinars (both live and on-demand), and conferences, with a focus on first-time attendees.
New this year, through a partnership with Streamline, $7,500 has been made available to fund website creation plus 15 months of website hosting for special districts with budgets of under $500,000 that do not currently have a website.
The first application deadline is December 15, 2017 and the 15th of the month thereafter. Applications are available at sdlf.org.
