Webinar: New Opportunities under Medicaid to Address the Health Needs of Youth Leaving Correctional Facilities

The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Center for Healthcare Strategies (CHCS), will host a webinar, New Opportunities under Medicaid to Address the Health Needs of Youth Leaving Correctional Facilities, on Wednesday, August 16th at 11:00 am.
The webinar will cover:
- How juvenile justice systems can implement expanded Medicaid legislation directed towards pre-adjudicated youth in public institutions
- Education on both the pending 1115 waivers and the SUPPORT ACT (suspending instead of terminating Medicaid)
- Highlights the critical benefits of the Medicaid expansion and partnerships with Medicaid agencies, managed care, and other health providers
- A panel discussion from states that have their own 1115 waiver or have built strong partnerships and processes between juvenile justice agencies and health systems.
