Counties Oppose Graham-Cassidy ACA Proposal

September 14, 2017

CSAC and a wide ranging group of our affiliates continue to engage on potential federal action on healthcare issues and are opposed to the bill recently introduced by Senators Cassidy, Graham, Heller, and Johnson to dramatically change the ACA. The measure would reverse the significant progress California has made in reducing the number of uninsured residents by reducing the amount of Medicaid funding available.

Further, the measure would cap the federal financial participation in Medicaid and end enhanced federal support for states choosing to expand coverage, which would undermine county health systems and services and erode the federal, state, and county ACA partnership. CSAC will continue to keep counties updated as discussions on health care reform continue.
