MCIP Website Up and Running!

The website for the Medi-Cal Inmate Program (MCIP) is now available on the Department of Health Care Services’ website. Currently, the website includes an overview of the program and relevant state and federal law on the program. There is also a selection of important documents, including the slides from the MCIP webinar. Remember to check the website – it will be updated as new information on the program becomes available.

Future of First 5 Funding Webinar Video Now Available

Moira Kenney, PhD, the Executive Director of the First 5 Association of California, sat down at the CSAC office in November to present a webinar on how counties can work with their local First 5 partners and to also discuss the future of funding and services for First 5 efforts. Questions included concerns about the state potentially diverting First 5 funds during an economic downturn and the potential impacts of a potential repeal of the Affordable Care Act at the federal level. If you missed the webinar, the presentation materials are available in the CSAC Webinar Library, where the full recording of the webinar is also now posted.

Upcoming Webinar – Behavioral Health Dashboards: A Community Perspective

Learn more about why behavioral health benchmarking is critical to ongoing progress in the safety net during a Webinar scheduled for tomorrow, December 9. The webinar will discuss what Blue Shield of California Foundation grantees have done and learned, as well as how their efforts can be replicated in local communities.

The webinar will feature a wide range of speakers, including Kathleen Grassi from Merced County Department of Public Health and Shelley Barker from Health Improvement Partnership Santa Cruz. The webinar will include discussion on the determination of behavioral health metrics.
