Legislature Discusses IHSS and Coordinated Care Initiative
March 2, 2017
As the Legislature begins discussing the Governor’s proposed 2017-18 budget, a top issue is the unwinding of the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) and the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Maintenance of Effort (MOE).
This morning, CSAC Executive Director Matt Cate testified before the Senate Budget Subcommittee No. 3 on the dire impacts counties will be facing on July 1 as the state shifts more than $620 million in IHSS costs to counties. Next week, the Assembly Budget Subcommittee #1 on Health and Human Services will discuss the CCI and IHSS MOE on March 7. For more information on the unwinding of the CCI and IHSS MOE, and the impacts counties will face, please visit the CSAC website.
